Tribal Administrator

Job Summary

The Tribal Administrator is responsible for the tribal management functions which encompass administration, daily operations, supervision of tribal employees, policies, procedures and grant/program management. Ensures operations are in compliance with Tribal laws, ordinances, standards, and all applicable federal and VA state laws. Works in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer on fiscal budgetary activities and accounts. Employee oversight includes but is not limited to the establishment of working hours, approving time sheets, approving leave, specifying job tasks within the more general job duties and conducting performance evaluations for tribal employees excluding the Chief Financial Officer and accounting staff.

Tribal Preservation Officer

Job Summary

The Preservation Officer is a full-time position under the Pamunkey Indian Tribe’s Cultural Resources Department. This position will be tasked with managing federal, state, and local regulatory consultation projects that may impact significant cultural and historic resources on and off Pamunkey Indian lands. The Officer will serve as the representative and liaison for the Pamunkey Indian Tribe regarding these consultation projects under the guidance of the Chief and Council and will report directly to the Cultural Resources Department Director. The Officer will establish policies, guidelines, and processes to direct and manage the Tribe’s various Tribal Historic Preservation initiatives located off and on Tribal lands. The Officer will primarily work from the Pamunkey Indian Tribal Resource Office on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation in King William, Virginia.

  • Salary Range: $58,000-$65,000

Natural Resources and Environmental Director

Job Summary

The Director is responsible for providing leadership, management, and vision to ensure the Natural Resource and Environmental Department (NRED) has the proper operational controls in place to align with, and contribute to, the Pamunkey Tribe’s environmental protection goals and priorities. S/he will act as the main liaison between the Pamunkey Indian Tribal Government, the Tribal Office, and external agencies, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). S/he is responsible for supporting tribal programs to ensure timely, consistent and effective execution of office’s functions, which includes goal setting, grant administration, progress monitoring, reporting, and coordination of the work with various types of individuals, groups, and agencies.

  • Salary Range: $68,000-$78,000
